Terms of Use
Last updated: September 25, 2026. These terms cover your use of Ember, its verse explanations, and any optional in-app purchase.
What Ember does
Ember helps you build a daily Bible reading habit with a daily verse deck, saved verses, reading plans, a streak with grace days, a weekly kindness challenge, a quiet-time timer, share cards and a widget.
Ember is published on the App Store by DIGITALSTALK PRIVATE LIMITED. By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms.
Scripture and explanations
Scripture text in Ember is the World English Bible, which is in the public domain.
Verse explanations are short reflections, generated on your device by Apple Intelligence where available or taken from built-in text. They are offered for personal encouragement and are not authoritative teaching, pastoral counselling or professional advice. They may contain mistakes.
Purchases
Ember is free to download. Where offered, Ember Lifetime is an optional one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks premium features for the Apple Account that bought it. It does not renew.
You can restore it on your devices with Restore Purchases. Prices are shown in your local currency in the app before you confirm anything, and that price is the one you pay.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm. Apple processes all payments and refunds, so we cannot issue refunds ourselves. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Licence and Apple's standard EULA
Ember is licensed to you, not sold. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your use of the app and to any in-app purchase or subscription, and is available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. These terms sit alongside it, and where the two conflict, Apple's EULA prevails to the extent required.
You may not copy, resell, rent, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, or remove any notices from it, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits.
Acceptable use
You may share verse cards for personal, non-commercial purposes. Do not use Ember to break the law or to harass anyone, and do not attempt to interfere with the app.
Your data
Your reading data stays on your device. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is stored and where.
Availability and changes
We may add, change or remove features, reading plans and content, and we may stop supporting older versions of iOS. We aim to keep the app working but do not guarantee it will be free of interruptions or defects.
We may update these terms when the app changes or when legal requirements change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
Liability
Ember is provided as is and as available. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of a streak or of data stored only on your device, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app and in-app purchases in the twelve months before the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
