Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026. This policy explains what Ember keeps on your device, how verse explanations are generated, and why the App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
In plain English
Ember runs on your device. There is no account, no server of ours, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no other third-party SDK that sends data anywhere.
The App Store privacy label for Ember is Data Not Collected.
What Ember is
Ember is an iPhone app for a daily Bible reading habit: a small daily deck of verses, saved verses, reading plans, a forgiving streak, a weekly kindness challenge, a quiet-time timer and a widget.
Ember is published on the App Store by DIGITALSTALK PRIVATE LIMITED, which is responsible for the app and for this policy.
What is stored on your device
Saved verses, your streak and grace days, reading-plan progress, kindness-challenge progress, your reminder time and your preferences are stored locally on your iPhone.
A small snapshot is written to a shared App Group on your device so the widget can show today's verse and your streak without any network call.
Nothing is uploaded to us or backed up by us. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Verse explanations and Apple Intelligence
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, Ember can explain a verse in plain language using Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. The verse is processed on your iPhone by Apple's on-device model. Ember does not send it to us or to any cloud AI service.
On devices without Apple Intelligence, Ember shows a short built-in reflection instead.
Reminders, widget and sharing
The daily reminder is a local notification scheduled by iOS on your device. It is optional, and you can change or turn it off in Ember or in iOS Settings.
When you share a verse card, Ember creates the image on your device and hands it to the iOS share sheet. You choose where it goes, and we do not receive a copy.
Purchases
Where Ember offers an optional purchase, it uses Apple In-App Purchase (StoreKit 2). iOS talks to the App Store directly, Apple processes the payment, and we never see your card details.
Your entitlement is verified on your device from Apple's signed transaction. There is no third-party purchases SDK in the app.
What we do not do
No advertising identifier is requested and the app does not use App Tracking Transparency, because it does not track you.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with data brokers.
Crash reports and support
Apple may share aggregated or anonymised crash and usage data with us through App Store Connect if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings. That comes from Apple, not from code we added.
If you email us at Abhinay@approtic.in, we receive whatever you choose to send, such as your email address, your message and any screenshots. We use it only to answer you and keep it only as long as needed for support, legal and business records.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.
Because your reading data stays on your device, the fastest way to erase it is to delete the app or remove items inside it.
To make a request, email Abhinay@approtic.in. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
Ember is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
International transfers
We are based in India. If you email us from another country, your email reaches us in India. The app itself does not transfer personal information anywhere.
Changes
We may update this document when the app changes or when legal requirements change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
