Brixa Privacy Policy
Brixa does not collect your personal data. There is no account, no sign-up, no server of ours for your data to sit on, and no analytics or advertising code in the app. This page explains exactly what that means, without the usual boilerplate.
The short version
- Everything you enter stays on your device.Your batches, readings, photos, notes, recipes and costs are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
- iCloud sync is optional and private to you.If you turn it on, your data syncs through Apple’s CloudKit into your own private iCloud database. We have no access to it and cannot read it.
- No account and no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number or a password.
- No analytics, no ads, no trackers. Brixa contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no attribution or fingerprinting code, and no third-party trackers of any kind.
- Nothing is sold or shared. We do not sell, rent, trade or share your information with anyone, because we do not have it.
This matches the App Privacy disclosure filed for Brixa in App Store Connect, which states “Data Not Collected.”
Who we are
Brixa is developed and published by NHANCIO TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED, operating as Approtic. You can reach us at support@approtic.in. For the purposes of data-protection law we are the controller of any personal data we process — which, as described here, is limited to the contents of any email you choose to send us.
What Brixa stores, and where
On your device
Everything the app is for: batch names and types, gravity, Brix, temperature, pH and TA readings, additions and their quantities, racking and bottling records, recipes and kit schedules, ingredient costs, tasting notes, and any photos you attach. This data is written to Brixa’s local SwiftData store inside the app’s sandboxed container on your iPhone. It is covered by your device passcode and by iOS file protection, and it is included in your encrypted device backups if you make them.
In your iCloud account, only if you ask
Brixa can sync that same data between your own devices using Apple’s CloudKit private database. This is off by default and you turn it on in Settings. When it is on, the data travels to Apple’s servers under yourApple Account and lives in the private container associated with the app. We hold no keys, no dashboard and no ability to query it. Apple’s handling of that data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy. Turning sync off stops further syncing; deleting the app and its iCloud data removes it.
Photos
When you attach a photo to a batch, Brixa copies it into its own local store. If you grant photo-library access, that access is used only to let you pick an image. Photos are never uploaded to us and never leave your device except through iCloud sync, if you have enabled it, or through an export you deliberately share.
Purchases
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We receive no card number, billing address or any other payment detail — only Apple’s signed confirmation that an entitlement is active, which the app checks on your device. Apple provides us with aggregate, anonymised sales reporting that cannot identify you.
Exports and sharing
PDF batch reports, CSV exports and QR tag sheets are generated on your device. Where they go next is entirely your choice through the iOS share sheet. Brixa does not send them anywhere on its own.
What Brixa does not do
- It does not create an account or require one.
- It does not transmit your batch data to any server we control. We do not operate one.
- It does not contain an analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting SDK.
- It does not use cookies, device fingerprinting, or an advertising identifier (IDFA), and it does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission because it does not track you.
- It does not read your contacts, calendar, health data, location or microphone.
- It does not build a profile of you or make automated decisions about you.
Brixa can schedule local notifications for racking and additive steps if you allow notifications. These are created and delivered on your device by iOS; no push server is involved and no notification content reaches us.
This website
This page is part of approtic.in, which is hosted on Vercel. Standard web server logs (including IP address and browser user agent) may be processed by our hosting provider for security and reliability. That is separate from the app, which has no web component at all.
Your rights
Because we do not hold your data, most data-subject requests are things you can carry out yourself, immediately, without asking us.
- Access and portability. Export any batch as a PDF report or CSV from inside the app, at any time.
- Rectification. Edit or correct any reading, note or record directly.
- Erasure.Delete a batch in the app, or delete the app to remove its local store. If you used iCloud sync, also remove Brixa’s data under Settings › your name › iCloud on your device.
- Objection and restriction. There is no processing by us to object to or restrict.
If you are in the EU, UK or another jurisdiction covered by the GDPR, the lawful basis for the negligible processing we do (replying to an email you send us) is our legitimate interest in providing support. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not collect, sell or share personal information, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose beyond what is permitted without a right to limit. We will never discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
If you email us and would like that correspondence deleted, ask and we will delete it.
Children
Brixa is not directed at children. It concerns the production of alcoholic beverages, is rated 17+ on the App Store for alcohol reference, and is intended for adults of legal drinking and home-production age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including anyone under 17. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Your data is protected by iOS app sandboxing, device encryption and your passcode or biometric lock. If you enable iCloud sync, data in transit and at rest is protected by Apple’s CloudKit encryption. The most meaningful security property of Brixa is structural: there is no central database of users to breach, because there is no central database.
Changes to this policy
If Brixa ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the effective date above. If a future version of the app were ever to collect personal data — which is not the plan — we would say so here clearly and update the App Privacy disclosure on the App Store before that version shipped.
