Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026. This policy explains exactly what Tidemark reads, where it is processed, and why the App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.

In plain English

Tidemark runs entirely on your device. Your trips, day counts and reports never leave your iPhone through the app.

There is no account to create, no server to sync with, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party SDK that transmits data.

The App Store privacy label for Tidemark is Data Not Collected.

What Tidemark is

Tidemark is an iPhone app that counts days per country. It shows the rolling Schengen 90-in-180 counter, a trip planner, 183-day tax-residency counters, US-state day totals, and a PDF report you can share with an advisor or authority yourself.

Tidemark is published on the App Store by VIIONR INFOTECH PRIVATE LIMITED, which also operates this website and handles support for the app.

Location data

Location access is optional. If you grant it, Tidemark uses iOS significant-location-change and visit monitoring to note which country you are in. It does not use continuous GPS or track your route, and it does not need Always access unless you turn on background country detection.

Location events are processed on your device and stored on your device. They are not transmitted to us, and they are not transmitted to any third party. There is no server that receives them because the app contains no code that sends them anywhere.

You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings, or leave it off entirely. Manual entry works with location off.

Photos as a memory jog

If you turn it on, Tidemark reads the location and date metadata attached to photos you select from your library, so it can suggest past stays you might have forgotten.

That reading happens on your device. The photos themselves are not uploaded, not copied out of your library, and not sent to any third-party service. You can turn this off at any time and revoke Photos access in iOS Settings.

Trips and totals

Trips and day totals you add or accept are stored locally on your device.

Nothing is uploaded, backed up to us, or readable by us. Deleting the app deletes them.

Widgets and notifications

Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read a small snapshot Tidemark writes to a shared App Group on your device, so widgets stay fast without any network calls.

Local notifications about approaching limits are scheduled and delivered by iOS on your device. They are not scheduled or delivered from a server.

Purchases and what that sends

Tidemark uses Apple In-App Purchase (StoreKit 2) directly. When you tap Buy, Subscribe or Restore, iOS talks to the App Store to process the purchase or read your entitlement.

Apple handles the payment. We never see your card details.

Apple provides the app with the receipt for your purchase or subscription so Pro can be recognised and restored. This is between your device, iOS and the App Store, and there is no third-party purchases SDK in Tidemark.

This is why the App Store privacy label for Tidemark is Data Not Collected.

What we do not do

There is no advertising SDK in the app and no advertising identifier is requested.

There is no analytics SDK in the app. We do not measure how you use it.

Tidemark does not use the App Tracking Transparency framework, because it does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with data brokers.

Crash reports and support

Apple may provide us with aggregated or anonymised crash and usage data through App Store Connect if you have agreed to share that with developers in your iOS settings. This comes from Apple, not from code we added.

If you email us for support, we receive whatever you choose to send, such as your email address, your message, and any device details or screenshots you attach. Support messages are kept only as long as needed for support, legal, security and business records.

Your rights

Because trips and totals stay on your device, the fastest way to erase them is to delete the app or delete individual entries inside it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. In practice the only records we may hold are support emails.

To exercise any of these rights, email us using the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

Tidemark is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support, contact us and we will review the request.

International transfers

We are based in India. If you email us from another country, that email will reach us in India. We do not otherwise transfer personal information across borders because the app does not send us any.

Not legal, immigration or tax advice

Tidemark helps you count days. It is not legal, immigration or tax advice, and Schengen, tax residency and US-state rules have exceptions the app cannot know about. Always confirm your position with the official authorities in the countries that apply to you before you rely on it.

Changes

We may update this policy when the app changes or when legal requirements change. The updated date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
