Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026. This policy explains what Lyrix reads, which services it talks to in order to show lyrics, and what stays on your device.

In plain English

Lyrix does not require an account and contains no advertising SDK and no analytics SDK. It reads the song you are playing so it can fetch lyrics, and it keeps your history and favourites on your device.

We do not sell your data and we do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Who we are

Lyrix is published on the App Store by VIIONR INFOTECH PRIVATE LIMITED, which is responsible for the app and for this policy.

The music you are playing

With your permission for Media and Apple Music, Lyrix uses Apple's MusicKit and media player frameworks to read the song that is playing and the playback position, so lyrics can scroll in time.

If you choose to connect Spotify, you sign in on Spotify's own page using a secure PKCE flow, and Lyrix uses the Spotify Web API to read your playback state and currently playing track, and to control playback when you tap the controls in Lyrix. The access token is stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device. You can disconnect Spotify in Lyrix or remove access from your Spotify account settings at any time. Spotify's privacy policy applies to your Spotify account.

Lyrics lookups

To find lyrics, Lyrix sends the track title, artist, album and duration to LRCLIB (lrclib.net), a free public lyrics database. These requests do not include your name, email or any account identifier. Like any web request, LRCLIB receives your IP address, and its own privacy practices apply.

Song recognition

If you tap to identify a song, Lyrix uses the microphone and Apple's ShazamKit to create an audio signature on your device and match it against the Shazam catalogue operated by Apple. Lyrix does not record or store audio and does not send it to us.

Microphone access is optional and only used while recognition is running. You can revoke it at any time in iOS Settings.

Translation

Lyrics translation uses Apple's Translation framework, which translates on your device using language models provided by Apple. Lyrix does not send lyrics to us or to any third-party translation service.

History, favourites, widgets and Live Activities

Your listening history, favourites and settings are stored locally on your device. A small snapshot of the current track is written to a shared App Group so widgets and the Live Activity can display it.

Notifications are optional and can be turned off in iOS Settings. Nothing in this section is uploaded to us.

Referral programme

If you open the invite-a-friend feature, Lyrix creates a referral code linked to your device's identifier for vendor, a random ID that iOS gives to apps from the same developer on your device, and stores it on our referral service hosted on Cloudflare.

When someone redeems a code, the service records the date and a hashed identifier of the redeeming device so bonus premium days can be awarded and abuse prevented. We use this only to run the referral programme.

Subscriptions

Lyrix Pro uses Apple In-App Purchase (StoreKit 2). iOS talks to the App Store directly, Apple processes the payment, and we never see your card details. There is no third-party purchases SDK in the app.

What we do not do

No advertising identifier is requested and Lyrix does not use App Tracking Transparency, because it does not track you.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with data brokers.

Crash reports and support

Apple may share aggregated or anonymised crash and usage data with us through App Store Connect if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings. That comes from Apple, not from code we added.

If you email us at Abhinay@approtic.in, we receive whatever you choose to send, such as your email address, your message and any screenshots. We use it only to answer you and keep it only as long as needed for support, legal and business records.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.

Referral records are kept while the referral programme runs. To have yours deleted, email us your referral code.

To make a request, email Abhinay@approtic.in. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

Lyrix is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

We are based in India. Our referral service runs on Cloudflare's global network, and LRCLIB, Spotify and Apple may process requests outside your country. Where we transfer personal information, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer.

Changes

We may update this document when the app changes or when legal requirements change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
