Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 28, 2026. A clear account of what stays on your device, when Apple services are used, and the choices you control.
Privacy at a glance
Citizenship Test Prep 2026 does not require an account and does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking.
Your study progress, review schedules and history, personal memory cues, bookmarks, preferences, interview checklist, ZIP code, and any USCIS receipt number you choose to save remain on your device. Approtic cannot view them.
Voice practice uses Apple microphone and speech-recognition services only after you choose to start it. We do not receive or retain your recordings or transcripts.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
About this app
Citizenship Test Prep 2026 is an independent study and interview-practice app for the United States naturalization test. Approtic operates the app, this website, and customer support.
The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official service of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Department of Homeland Security, or any other government agency.
Information stored on your device
The app stores your onboarding status, selected civics-test version, state or territory, study streak, answers, scores, mastery level, difficult questions, bookmarks, speaking score, and study preferences so your learning experience can continue between sessions.
If you use interview preparation features, the app may also save your checklist, ZIP code, reminder preference, and the USCIS receipt number you enter. These details are stored locally and are not transmitted to Approtic.
You control what you enter. You can remove locally stored information by clearing it inside the app where that option is available or by deleting the app from your device.
Microphone and speech recognition
Voice-practice features request microphone and speech-recognition access only when you choose to speak an answer. You can deny or revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings; typed and non-voice study features will remain available.
Build 2 requires Apple's on-device English speech recognition. It does not fall back to server-based recognition; if on-device recognition is unavailable, typed practice remains available. Earlier builds used Apple's speech services according to device and system settings. Approtic does not receive the audio.
The resulting transcript is used during the active practice session to check accepted answer wording. The app does not save audio recordings or send transcripts to Approtic or an AI service. Per-question practice results, schedules, and notes you deliberately save remain on your device.
On-device learning assistance
Build 2 checks accepted answer wording with local rules. It is not a conversational AI tutor and may miss valid paraphrases. Your answers are not sent to ChatGPT, OpenAI, or an Approtic AI server. Compare the official accepted answers yourself.
Read-aloud features use Apple's text-to-speech technology on your device. Automated feedback is a study aid, not official USCIS scoring or legal advice.
Notifications
If you enable study reminders, iOS may ask for notification permission. Reminder scheduling and delivery are handled on your device. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.
Official links and third parties
The app may open official websites such as USCIS, myUSCIS, USA.gov, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the U.S. Senate. Once you leave the app, those services process information under their own privacy policies.
Apple may provide Approtic with aggregated or anonymized diagnostics through App Store Connect if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers. Apple controls that collection, and the app does not embed a separate analytics SDK.
Support messages
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message, screenshots, or device details. We use it only to respond, troubleshoot, protect the service, and maintain necessary business or legal records.
Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes. You may ask us to delete it, subject to records we must keep by law.
Tracking, sale, and advertising
The app does not show ads, use advertising identifiers, or track activity across other companies' apps or websites. Approtic does not sell or rent personal information or share it with data brokers.
Your choices and rights
You can manage microphone, speech-recognition, and notification permissions in iOS Settings. Deleting the app removes its locally stored study and interview-preparation data from that device.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held by Approtic. Because the app's study data remains on your device, the information we may hold is generally limited to messages you send us. Contact us to make a request.
Children
The app is a general-audience educational tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information through support, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, its data practices, or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected here and, when appropriate, communicated in the app.
