Setup, troubleshooting and restore help for Shallot: Safari Ad Blocker.
Enable the Safari extension
Open iOS Settings, choose Apps, Safari, Extensions, then switch on Shallot Layers and allow it on all websites. The Home screen shows when Safari has it enabled.
A site stopped working
Open Sites, choose Peel back, and add that site. Shallot ignores every layer there and on its subdomains. You can also turn off the Pop-ups & banners or Social widgets layers, which are the usual culprits.
Restore a purchase
Tap Restore on the plan screen or in Settings. Privacy Duo also needs Sign in with Apple with the same identity in the companion VPN app. Solo plans need no account.
Get the app
Rule layers are built from EasyList, EasyPrivacy, Fanboy's Social and Annoyance lists, NoCoin and URLhaus, and ship with each app update.
Email support
Include the app version, iOS version, which layers are on, and the website that misbehaves. Do not email passwords or payment details.
