Privacy Policy

Barm has no account and no Barm server. Your starters, feeds, rise marks, bake plans, journal entries and photos are stored on your iPhone.

If iCloud is on, they also sync through your own private iCloud database via Apple’s CloudKit, so they appear on your other devices. That database belongs to your Apple ID; we cannot read it.

There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party SDK that transmits data. The App Store privacy label for Barm is Data Not Collected.

Barm is an iPhone app for sourdough bakers. It keeps a feeding log, predicts when a starter will peak, plans bakes backwards from bake time, and includes dough, hydration, feeding and dough-temperature calculators.

Barm is published on the App Store by VIIONR INFOTECH PRIVATE LIMITED, which also operates this website and handles support for the app.

You can add jar and crumb photos from your library or take one with the camera. Barm only receives the photos you pick or take.

Photos are resized and saved inside Barm’s own storage on your device. They are not uploaded to us or to any third party.

iCloud sync uses Apple’s CloudKit private database. Data is transferred between your devices and Apple’s iCloud under your Apple ID and Apple’s privacy policy.

You can turn sync off in Barm’s Settings or in iOS Settings. Deleting the app deletes the data stored on that device.

Home Screen widgets and Live Activities read a small snapshot Barm writes to a shared App Group on your device.

Feed, peak, fridge and bake reminders are local notifications scheduled and delivered by iOS on your device. Nothing is sent from a server.

Barm uses Apple In-App Purchase (StoreKit 2) directly. Apple handles the payment and we never see your card details.

Apple provides the app with your purchase or subscription entitlement so Pro can be recognised and restored. There is no third-party purchases SDK in Barm.

No advertising, no advertising identifier, no analytics, no tracking across apps or websites, and no selling or sharing of personal information.

Apple may provide us with aggregated crash data through App Store Connect if you have chosen to share it with developers in iOS Settings.

If you email us for support, we receive what you choose to send and keep it only as long as needed for support, legal and business records.

Because your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud, you can delete it at any time inside the app or by deleting the app. For any request about support emails we hold, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

Barm is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this policy when the app or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
