Privacy Policy

Bookilo does not require an account and does not include advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, or data-broker sharing. Approtic does not receive your library, reading progress, notes, quotes, collections, goals, or reading sessions.

Your library and reading activity are stored in Bookilo's private on-device storage. Cached book-cover images are also stored locally so covers load reliably.

Bookilo version 1 does not use iCloud sync. Removing books inside the app deletes those library records. Uninstalling Bookilo removes the remaining app data from the device, subject to any device backup you control.

When you scan or enter an ISBN, or search for a title or author, Bookilo sends that ISBN or search text to Open Library to find public book metadata. Bookilo also downloads cover images from Open Library. Open Library processes those network requests under its own privacy practices.

Bookilo does not send your reading progress, notes, quotes, collections, goals, or reading sessions with these requests.

If you allow camera access, Bookilo uses the camera to recognize ISBN barcodes. Barcode recognition happens on your device. Bookilo does not capture, store, or upload camera images. You can deny camera access and enter an ISBN manually instead.

Files are read only when you select them for import. An export is created only when you request it. If you share an export through Apple's share sheet, the destination you choose handles that shared copy under its own privacy terms.

If you email support, Approtic receives the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, screenshots, app version, or device details. Support records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for support, security, legal, and business purposes.

Bookilo is a general-audience library utility and is not directed to children under 13. We use reasonable safeguards for information we control and will update this page before materially different data practices take effect.
